PIDC Modules

The PIDC Secretariat is working with the Bali Process Regional Support Office and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to develop a model curriculum and model training modules to support all Members to develop a basic national introductory and induction immigration training programme for their staff.  Support is to be provided through Train the Trainer programmes that have already been commenced with the support of the Bali Process and IOM.

Technical assistance will be coordinated and supported by the PIDC Secretariat for Members to finalise and adapt model training modules to the local environment where necessary.

These Materials Include:

A Participant’s Guide and Workbook, and an accompanying Trainer’s Guide, covering the following module.

  1. Migration Policy and Legislation
  2. Decision Making
  3. Application Processing
  4. Time Management
  5. Caseload Management
  6. Basic Record Keeping

As many of the modules focus on generic skill sets, PNG ICS has kindly made materials available to all members. The Participant’s Guide and Workbook is available.

The accompanying Trainer’s Guide, containing answers to tests and exercises in the Participant’s Guide, is available to immigration trainers and managers upon request from the PIDC Secretariat.

Immigration trainers and managers within the region making use of the training materials are asked to take care to safeguard the integrity of the training package.
