Head of Secretariat - Apia, Samoa
The Pacific Immigration Directors' Conference (PIDC) is an organisation for official Pacific Immigration Agencies of the Pacific Region. It provides a forum for the Heads of Immigration Agencies to meet and to discuss issues of shared interest and to foster multilateral cooperation and mutual assistance aimed at strengthening members' territorial borders and the integrity of their entry systems. The PIDC seeks to provide a focal point for communication, collaboration and cooperation amongst PIDC members, with the aim of better managing migration flows and strengthening border management across the region, thereby contributing to improved social and economic well-being and security in the Pacific.
Reporting to a rotational Chair and the PIDC Management Board, the Head of Secretariat (HoS) is responsible for the overall operation of the PIDC Secretariat whose role is to represent the interests of its 19 member countries across the Pacific region.

To be successful in this position you will be an articulate communicator, negotiator and inspirational leader with a strong personal presence, drive and integrity. You will have proven experience in the management of an operationally complex organisation and the ability to drive organisational change, have a solid record of innovative achievement as a senior manager and be able to engage effectively with external organisations. Your strengths will also lie in building and maintaining high performing teams, shaping strategic thinking and being strongly results-focused.
We welcome applications from exceptional leaders from any background, although applicants with knowledge and experience with Immigration issues within the Pacific region are preferred. You will also have an in-depth understanding of cultural and political developments in the Pacific and their potential impact on Immigration issues. Candidates who are a serving or former Immigration official from any one of the 19 member Pacific countries PIDC represents are encouraged to apply.
You must be willing to travel on a frequent basis with the ability to obtain appropriate security clearances. A remuneration package commensurate with that of an executive in a regional organisation will be offered.
